Anglia Group Committee

With the years passing by so fast it’s hard to realise that it is over two years that our Secretary Sandra has been doing the job for the group, and a good job she is doing too but she has said this will be her last year as Secretary as she still has to work for a living .   Our treasurer Keith Boreham is keeping the books and bank accounts where they should be in good health and is giving vouchers out in respect of members doing six rallies or more ( Anglia members only) with some getting an above and beyond voucher for the work that they have done helping at rallies. I have been the Chairman since 2018 and Teresa has been the Rally Officer, with us coming to really every rally, at least 20 out of 22 for the past seven /eight years we now feel its time to step back and let someone  else take the rains of the group, so Teresa and myself are also retiring from our roles at the next AGM. If anyone wants to take over as Chairman please don't be afraid to put your name down on the form next September when the list goes up on the notice board.

For the last seven or eight years I have been Chairman there has been one person in the background helping me with setting the halls up ready for rallies, looking after the PA system, setting it up and putting it away, and doing our music quizzes, That person is Paul Cook (my right hand man).  A Lot has changed over the years with new members coming to rallies and some old one’s going to different places for a change, we see lots of different faces coming to enjoy an Anglia rally. We have a very good Committee now this year which likes to help out every time there is a rally on making it easy for the stewards.

 This year the National is at Statfold Country park on the 21st to the 26th May and should be a great National with the park having so much for the Steam enthusiasts with over twenty steam Loco engines and two model steam trains giving rides around the outskirts of the park, to a vintage fairground museum and plenty of walks for the energetic members amongst us. There will be stalls, Craft Fair, Food vans, Showers, etc, ready for those that like to support them Club on the National Agm Rally.

We are blessed with the Norfolk coast and have very good rallies with lots being full with members from all Groups coming to visit us. Prices of rallies are going up as the venues are putting their prices up due to the cost of the electric and heating which is not cheap so we have to adjust our pricing to help soften the impact of this. Christmas and New Year this year are Rallies we have had to raise the price on as food is costing more and the school has increased their price so hence the price increase for this year which is on Home page for details of paying. Well I would like to thank all the members that have come to Anglia rallies this year and help us to enjoy all the rallies we have with entertainment at some of them we will all look forward to seeing each one of you at an Anglia rally or maybe a different Groups rally sometime in the future. 

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the new members for this year not forgetting that every great rally is only great because you the members have helped by coming to Anglia and supporting this great Group, I take my hat off to you all Thank you.
